On-going programs. And activities and expressed satisfaction   with

Regard to the current status of the activities.  He was confident of further

development in the activities  and cited with contentment the distinct increase seen  lately in the number of nursing  students attending  the awareness program per month to 200, in addition to medical students from the three medical faculties..

As regards the Diploma Course, Dr.Mendis explained that it has already gained ground and it is anticipated that the growing popularity of the Diploma will enhance the number of participants registering themselves for the course from the present 22 to 40 participants.  It is envisaged that in such a situation, finding the required accommodation would pose a problem and also provision of such other facilities to ensure uninterrupted and smooth conduct of the course. The auditorium that is presently being used for the conduct of lectures cannot accommodate such a large number of participants. The other auditorium is separately located and is not much of a help.

Alternatively, the Management Committee suggested that the council meeting hall could be conveniently used for the purpose. Approval was granted for the same.

By next week.  With regard to the cracks on the wall, Mr.Rohan Tudawe

Has already detailed a structural engineer to visit the centre for an

Inspection.  The matter is being followed.

4/06/2/3/10      The Community Supportive Group has indicated that they would try to

Send a person periodically to attend to the garden. If the arrangement works out, it was thought that he could also assist the cook in his daily work.

4/06/2/4/10      The Committee discussed in general the fees charged from the residential clients.  It was suggested to look for new fund raising avenues such as room sponsorship.
